They are all still there, the old leather-bound books, the winding staircase and the venerable coffered ceiling of the library that once belonged to Foundation Thiers students, as is the muted, typically British atmosphere. But there is something else, something modern.
Laura Gonzalez has preserved the iconic elements of the décor—wood panelling, cosy velvets and time-worn leathers–but has softened the edges with a gentle touch. The bar counter stands out against a background of omnipresent greenery while patterns and prints blend seamlessly into the decor, from thick Iranian-patterned rugs to Indian cashmeres. It is the ideal setting for a quick lunch or a personalised cocktail, shaken to perfection by the master mixologists of the Saint James.
In summer, a second bar is set under the graceful pergola in the garden and cocktails are shaken al fresco!
Every weekend, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., we invite you to enjoy an exceptional Tea Time, created by our Pastry Chef Coline Doussin. This gourmet experience offers a refined selection of sweet and savory creations, accompanied by a selection of beverages. Discover classics reimagined with originality and elegance: a lobster roll, served with a pre-dessert featuring garden herbs and Nice lemon, a Colombian chocolate ice cream cookie, a strawberry charlotte with country bread, a Saint Honoré with toasted vanilla and salted butter caramel, a Nonville rhubarb chausson to share, or a hazelnut flan from Lot-et-Garonne.
