For the first time, the Pompidou Centre has created an impressive ensemble of 250 works and documents from three major artists of the Russian avant-garde who particularly influenced modern art: Chagall, Lissitzky, Malevitch. This exhibition is the first to address the post-revolutionary years, from 1918 to 1922. Until July 16th.

The Atelier des Lumières presents an immersive exhibition devoted to the main figures in the Viennese art scene, of which Gustav Klimt was a key figure. To mark the hundredth anniversary of the painter’s death, and that of Egon Schiele, their works will be brought to life to the sound of music on the former foundry’s immense projection surface. Until November 11th, 38 rue Saint Maur, 11th.

Our sister property on the Left bank, the Relais Christine, invites you to its Thursday talks. On May 24th at 6pm, the famous art historian Dr Kelly Spearman will tell you the story of Paris through its bridges, true symbols of the City of Lights. Participation 35 Euro with a drink.

Opera

Under the direction of Philippe Jordan and staged by Richard Jones, tag along the epic interior journey of Parsifal, hero of Richard Wagner’s latest masterpiece. The grandiose choirs accompany him to his discovery of the Grail, the fullness of life and the quietude of the soul. Until May 23rd.

Restaurants

The Dassai group, known for its excellent sakes, has partnered with Joël Robuchon to open a store-caterer-bakery-pastry-tearoom-sake bar. The store offers among others take-away dishes signed by Robuchon, like sautéed lamb, carrots, eggplant, cumin, coriander and lemon; paella with shrimps, skid, and poultry; barley salad with curcuma, shrimp, avocado… Count 7 to 9 Euro per jar. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. 184 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 8th.

Le Bistrot Benoit at the Louvre becomes an annex of the famous Benoit by Alain Ducasse with a traditional French menu including snails in a parsley butter; pâté en croûte; œufs mayonnaise, duck foie gras and preserved onions; fillet of whiting with tartar sauce; croque-monsieur; salmon with Béarnaise sauce and mashed potatoes and for dessert: baba au rhum; chocolate jar and whipped cream; rice pudding with toffee sauce. Formula with starter and main or main and dessert at 29.50 Euro with a glass of wine or half a bottle of water. Count 25-50 Euro à la carte. Closed on Tuesdays like the Louvre.
